The data based on contestants for 2009 assembly elections in Jharkhand was released in a press conference in Ranchi on December 13, 2009. According to the report, 321 candidates (32% of 997 considered by NEW) have pending criminal cases against them. About 71 of contesting candidates are crorepatis.
