1.Sikkim Election Watch report: Please find attached the report of the Sikkim Assembly elections.
A few highlights:
1. Total no. of Candidates with Criminal Records = 23 of 167 candidates or 13.77% in Sikkim Assembly elections.
2. Most of the major political parties have fielded candidates with criminal records, with top parties being INC (10) or 31.25%, SHRP (4) or 19.05%, SGPP (3) or 11.11%, CPI(M) (1) or 33.33%, and BJP (1) or 9.09%.
3. There are 8 candidates who are charged of heinous crime which includes murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping, extortion, etc. Out of these 6 candidates belong to INC, SDF (1) and IND (1).
4. 39"Crorepatis" are contesting elections in Assembly elections in Sikkim. SDF (18) or 56.25%, INC (8) or 25%, BJP (4) or 36.36%, SGPP (2) or 7.41%, and SHRP (1) or 4.76%.
5. There is no female candidate contesting in the Sikkim Assembly elections.

A Few friends have told that they did not received reports on Delhi elections and All India reports of phase 1,2,3 combined from yesterday, it was probably because the size of the files was very big. Here are a few highlights from the all India report:
1. Total no. of Candidates with Criminal Records = 909 (i.e. 16.3% of 5573 candidates) for all phases so far.
2. There are 401 candidates charged with heinous crimes in phase 1,2 and 3 combined. Out of these INC has (36) candidates charged with these crimes, BJP is next with 35, BSP with 32, and SP (25).
3. Most states have candidates with criminal background contesting elections- Bihar with 175(27.13%) such candidates is at the top. It is followed by Maharashtra with 144 (17.84%) and UP with 122 (17.30). Jharkhand with 30% (51 candidates) has the highest percentage of such candidates.
4. 862 "Crorepatis" (15.5%) are contesting elections in all phases so far. Congress has 202 crorepatis, followed by BJP with 139, BSP with 95 and SP with 41.
5. Maximum crorepatis are contesting from Maharasthtra (139), followed by UP at 118 and Andhra Pradesh at 117.
6. 61.5% candidates have not furnished their PAN card details.
