An FIR was registered against Bihar agriculture minister Renu Kumari today charging her with violating the model code of conduct for elections.

Kumari became the fourth minister in the state to be charged with violating the model code ahead of the October-November state assembly polls.

The case against her was lodged with Murliganj police station in Bihar's Madhepura district by block development officer Janardan Prasad, official sources said.

She has been charged with holding meeting with JD(U) activists without seeking prior permission from authorities at Murliganj last evening.

Other Bihars minister who are facing model code violation charges are minister for PHED Ashwani Kumar Choubey, tourism minister Ram Pravesh Rai and rural works department minister Brishen Patel.
