Six national parties of the country have declared their total income of about Rs 3,077 crore in the financial year 2022-23, out of which Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) got the highest i.e. about Rs 2361 crore. Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) gave this information on Wednesday. Amidst the approaching Lok Sabha elections, Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), an organization advocating electoral reforms, has presented the account of total income and expenditure of national parties.

According to this report released on the basis of affidavits submitted by the parties to the Election Commission, all the parties have declared a total income of about Rs 3077 crore in the 2022-23 financial year. BJP has the highest stake in this with Rs 2360 crore. The income of the ruling BJP is 76.73 percent of the total income of the six national parties.

In terms of income, Congress has secured second place with Rs 452.375 crore. The income of Congress is 14.70 percent of the total income of the six national parties.

Apart from BJP and Congress, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), National People's Party (NPP) and Communist Party of India (Marxist) have also declared their income.

According to the ADR report, between financial years 2021-22 and 2022-23, BJP's income increased by 23.15 percent from Rs 1917.12 crore during financial year 2021-22 to Rs 2360.844 crore during financial year 2022-23.

NPP's income increased from Rs 47.20 lakh during FY 2021-22 to Rs 7.56 crore during FY 2022-23.

Similarly, Aam Aadmi Party's income increased by 91.23 per cent from Rs 44.53 crore during financial year 2021-22 to Rs 85.17 crore during financial year 2022-23.

According to the data submitted with the Election Commission, the income of Congress, CPI(M) and BSP between financial year 2021-22 and financial year 2022-23 will increase by 16.42 per cent (Rs 88.90 crore), 12.68 per cent (Rs 20.57 crore) and 33.14 per cent respectively. There has been a decrease of 14.50 per cent (Rs 14.50 crore).

Major sources of election donation income:

These national parties have declared election donations as their main source of income. BJP is at the forefront among the national parties earning the most from donations and contributions. The party has earned Rs 2120 crore from donations. Similarly, Congress has declared income of Rs 268 crore, AAP Rs 84 crore, CPI(M) Rs 63.783 crore and NPP Rs 7 crore.
