Of the 20 new ministers in Gujarat, 18 are crorepatis, an analysis of affidavits for the Gujarat assembly by ADR has shown.
The minister with the highest declared assets is Saurabh Yashvantbhai Dalal Patel from Botad, with assets worth Rs 123.78 crore.
The joint analysis of the self-sworn affidavits of the 20 ministers, including the CM, also threw up interesting facts — for instance, three (15%) of the ministers have declared criminal cases against themselves, After Patel, the study by the Association of Democratic Reforms and Gujarat Election Watch showed that the other two ministers with the highest assets include Parsotambhai Odhavjibhai Solanki and Radadiya Jayeshbhai Vitthalbhai, who have declared total assets worth Rs 45 crore and Rs 28 crore respectively.
The minister with the lowest declared assets is Khabad Bachubhai Maganbhai from Devgadhbaria constituency with assets worth Rs 35.45 lakh.
