With six municipal councils going to polls on Sunday to elect their members and presidents, the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) has stated that there are 19 crorepatis who have featured in the list of 100 wealthiest contestants of the state.

As per the data, that tracks affidavits filed by the candidates contesting elections with the election returning officers, Pranitaraje Pravinraje Shinde from Yeola - contesting from the Congress party, is the richest across the six councils.

There are 19 candidates (six each from Bhagur and Manmad, five from Yeola and two from Satana councils) who are contesting and have made it to the top 100 count.

The affidavit filed by Shinde said that she has movable assets worth Rs 12.45 lakh while immovable assets are worth Rs 19.95 crore amounting to a total of Rs 20.07 crore.

The second candidate is Padmavati Jagannath Dhatrak who is contesting the direct presidential election of Manmad council and a Shiv Sena candidate. Dhatrak has movable property worth Rs 86.29 lakh and immovable property worth Rs 17 crore.

The third candidate is Mohan Bhikaji Karanjakar from Bhagur, who has declared his assets worth Rs 15.30 crore that includes immovable property worth Rs 15.02 crore. The fourth and fifth place are shared by Anita and Vijay Kisan Karanjkar - who are contesting from the Sena camp.
