Corporate donations to political parties via electoral trusts have grown four-fold in last four years, according to a recent report by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR). The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) got a lion's share from the donations. Electoral trusts were introduced to make political funding more transparent and are required to donate 95% of their total income to registered political parties in a financial year.
