Lawmakers from Lucknow district spent only 48% on an average of the expenditure limit of Rs 40 lakh during the Assembly elections . Moreover, not a single MLA spent more than 65% of the limit during the process. 
The findings come from a detailed scrutiny of election expenditure by the Association for Democratic Reforms.
Malihabad MLA BJP's Jai Devi claimed that she spent Rs 25.8 lakh on her election campaign through print, TV and social media. 
The wife of Union minister Kaushal Kishore, her expenditure was the highest among nine MLAs from the district. Rajeshwar Singh, who won from Sarojininagar constituency, spent Rs 25.4 lakh including Rs 1.5 lakh spent by BJP for his campaign. Yogesh Shukla, who won for BJP from Bakshi-Ka-Talab, spent Rs 24 lakh and Amresh Kumar, BJP MLA from Mohanlalganj, pumped Rs 23.8 lakh for his campaign. 
Former cabinet minister Ashutosh Tandon (BJP), who won Lucknow East seat, spent Rs 20.7 lakh. Meanwhile, among the lowest spenders was SP MLA Ravidas Mehrotra (Rs 8.6 lakh). Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak, spent a total of Rs 16.6 lakh. Lucknow North BJP MLA Neeraj Bora spent Rs 16.8 lakh .
