ADR has analyzed the assets of 30 Chief Ministers of the country.

This analysis has been done on the basis of election affidavits.

It has been said in the report that out of 30 Chief Ministers in the country, 29 are crorepatis.

There has been a big disclosure in the report of the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR). ADR has said in its report that according to the analysis of election affidavits by the organization, out of 30 Chief Ministers of the country, 29 Chief Ministers are Crorepati CMs. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has the highest assets of Rs 510 crore. ADR said that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has the least assets of around Rs 15 lakh.

According to news agency PTI, ADR and Election Watch (New) said that they have reached this conclusion after analyzing the affidavits of all 30 current chief ministers of states and union territories. Let us inform that there are Chief Ministers in 28 states and there are also Chief Ministers in two Union Territories – Delhi and Puducherry. But there is currently no Chief Minister in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. ADR said that out of 30 chief ministers included in the analysis, 29 (97 per cent) are crorepatis. Whose average asset is Rs 33.96 crore per person. 

ADR According to the report, 13 out of 30 chief ministers (43 per cent) have declared serious criminal cases related to murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping and criminal intimidation in their election affidavits. Serious criminal cases are non-bailable offenses with imprisonment of more than five years, the report said. The top three chief ministers in terms of assets are Jagan Mohan Reddy of Andhra Pradesh (more than Rs 510 crore), Pema Khandu of Arunachal Pradesh (more than Rs 163 crore) and Naveen Patnaik of Odisha (more than Rs 63 crore). 

ADR pointed out that the three CMs with the least declared assets are West Bengal’s Mamata Banerjee (more than Rs 15 lakh), Kerala’s Pinarayi Vijayan (more than Rs 1 crore) and Haryana’s Manohar Lal (more than Rs 1 crore). The report states that both Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Delhi’s Arvind Kejriwal have assets worth more than Rs 3 crore.
