Seven Electoral Trusts (Electoral Trusts) have announced the amount received for the financial year 202021, which have received a total amount of Rs 258.49 crore from industrial houses and individuals and out of these, 258.43 crore (of the amount received) to various political parties. 99.97 percent) have been distributed.

This information has been given in an analysis released on Thursday. The top 10 donors have donated Rs 223.00 crore to Electoral Trusts, which is 86.27 per cent of the total donations received by the trusts during the financial year 202021 and BJP received Rs 212.05 crore or 82.05 per cent of the total donations received by all political parties. Has happened.

This information has been given in an analysis by election rights body Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR). The major parties that received donations include BJP, JD(U), Congress, NCP, AIADMK, DMK, RJD, AAP, LJP, CPM, CPI and Loktantrik Janata Dal, it said.

Future Gaming & Hotel Services contributed the highest of all the donors to the electoral trust at Rs 100 crore, followed by Haldia Energy India Ltd with Rs 25 crore and Megha Engineering & Infrastructure Ltd with Rs 22 crore to various trusts.

Electoral trusts are nonprofit organizations established to receive donations (contributions) systematically from industries and individuals for political parties in India. Its objective is to bring transparency in the use of funds for election related expenses.

During the financial year 202021, 159 persons contributed to the electoral trust. Of these, two persons donated 3.5 crores to Prudent Electoral Trust while 153 persons donated Rs 3.20 crores to Small Donations Electoral Trust. Three persons contributed Rs 5 lakh to Einzigerting Electoral Trust, while one person contributed Rs 1,100 to the Independent Electoral Trust.

The top 10 donors have donated Rs 223.00 crore to Electoral Trusts, which is 86.27 per cent of the total donations received by the trusts during the financial year 202021.

Prudent Electoral Trust donated Rs 209.00 crore to BJP as opposed to contribution of Rs 217.75 crore in FY 201920, while Jaibharat Electoral Trust donated Rs 2.00 crore of its total income to BJP in FY 202021.

Electoral Trust donated Rs 3.31 crore to Congress. Prudent Electoral Trust donated to seven political parties including major parties like BJP, JDU, Congress, NCP, RJD, AAP and LJP.

The BJP got Rs 212.05 crore or 82.05 per cent of the total donations received by all political parties from electoral trusts, while JDU got Rs 27 crore or 10.45 per cent of the total donations received by all the parties from all the seven electoral trusts.

The ADR analysis states that 10 other political parties, including Congress, NCP, AIADMK, DMK, RJD, AAP, LJP, CPM, CPI and Loktantrik Janata Dal, collectively received a total of Rs 19,3801 crore.
