More than half of the candidates contesting for the post of mayor from Lucknow are crorepatis. According to the data released by Association for Democratic Reforms on Wednesday, of the 19 mayoral candidates in Lucknow, 10 are crorepatis.

SP's Meera Vardhan tops the chart with assets worth more than Rs 18 crore. She is followed by BJP's Sanyukta Bhatia, who has movable and immovable assets worth more than Rs 8 crore.

BSP's Bulbul Godiyal owns assets worth more than Rs 2 crore.

Congress candidate Prema Awasthi's assets are worth Rs 76 lakh. Aam Admi Party candidate Priyanka Maheshwari owns assets worth Rs 1.11 crore. The average asset size of all mayoral candidates in Lucknow is Rs 2.5 crore.

According to the ADR report, all 19 candidates for the seat, which has been reserved for women, have a clean background. No one has a criminal case against her.

Eleven candidates are either postgraduate or graduate. As many as three candidates have a doctorate degree.

The report said that 12 mayoral candidates or 63% were aged 41-60 years. Five are in the age bracket of 31-40 years.
