Three of the nine ministers in the Tripura assembly have declared criminal cases against themselves. Of these, two have declared serious criminal cases, says an analysis of election affidavits by the Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR).
A statement by ADR said, “Three, or 33 per cent, out of nine ministers have declared criminal cases against themselves.” Amongst the nine ministers, six or 67 percent are crorepatis. The average asset of the ministers is Rs 2.83 crore, added the ADR statement. 

“The minister with the highest declared total assets is Jishnu Devvarma from Charilam constituency with assets worth Rs 11.07 crores,” said the ADR statement, adding that the minister with the lowest declared asset is Santana Chakma from Pencharthal Constituency with assets worth Rs 1.39 lakh.

In terms of education, of the nine ministers, a total of seven (or 78 per cent) ministers have declared their educational qualification to be graduates whereas two (or 22 percent) ministers are post graduates.

“A total of four (or 44 per cent) ministers have declared their age to be between 31-50 years while five(56 percent) ministers have declared their age to be between 51-80 years,” said the ADR analysis.

Out of nine ministers, only one is a woman.
