These companies give donations- Backed by Bharti Enterprises, the parent company of Bharti Airtel, Prudent Electoral Trust receives major funding from Future Gaming and Hotel Services, infrastructure firm Megha Engineering and Infrastructure India Ltd, Bharti Airtel, Bharti Infratel and Philips Carbon Black.
What is Electoral Trust- Under Section 29B of the Representation of the People Act, political parties can take donations from any individual, corporate and companies. They cannot take donations from government and foreign companies. Through Electoral Trust, corporates can donate to political parties without revealing their identity. Political parties have to give information to the Election Commission of those who have donated more than 20 thousand rupees. There is no account less than this.
