Punjab Election Watch is an associate of National Election Watch and Association for Democratic Reforms which are civil society organizations working for electoral and political reform in India. We are holding a press conference at Press Club Chandigarh on 4th January 2012 at 12:00 Noon.

Prof Jagdeep Chhokar, (Former Director of IIM Ahmedabad and founder member of Association for Democratic Reforms) will be present and will also address the media. The main focus of the press conference will be on illegal electoral expenditures by candidates and political parties. A report based on electoral expenditure figures given on sworn affidavits by winners and first runners up of Vidhan Sabha 2007 election will be presented. These figures are being revealed for the first time.

Another report with data and analysis of the criminal cases, assets, liabilities and education of this same set of candidates will also be presented. 

A voter awareness pamphlet will also be released for Punjab 2012 elections.
