Srinagar: The National Conference received Rs 50 lakh as election contribution from Satya Electoral Trust set up by Bharti Enterprises which owns Airtel, an election watchdog said.
In a report released by the Association of Democratic Reform (ADR), the Satya Electoral Trust received a total amount of Rs 85.40 crore from various corporates and individuals and distributed Rs 85.37 crore to various political parties.
“Bharti Airtel Ltd contributed the maximum amount of Rs 28 crore to Satya Electoral Trust followed by DLF Ltd, which donated Rs 20 crore,” the ADR report said.
“Shiromani Akali Dal, Rashtriya Janata Dal and the NC are the three regional parties to which the Trust made donations. SAD received Rs 2 crore and RJD received Rs 1 crore,” the report said.
