Patna, Oct 31: In the fourth phase of the Bihar elections, the richest candidate is worth Rs 22 crore while the candidates with the lowest assets is worth Rs 2,000. The second richest candidates is worth Rs 22 crore while the candidates with the second lowest assets is worth Rs 6,000.

An analysis conducted by the Association for Democratic Reforms states that there are 17 candidates who are worth over Rs 10 crore while 20 have assets more than Rs 5 crore. Candidates with assets to the tune of Rs 1 crore to Rs 5 crore are 177 in number.

Bihar elections phase 4: Richest candidate worth Rs 22 crore, lowest is Rs 2,000.

Top richest and lowest asset candidates:

Prabhu Narayan an independent candidate contesting independently from the Dhaka constituency is worth Rs 22 crore. He is followed by Angesh Kumar also an independent candidates contesting from Belsand constituency who is worth Rs 21 crore. Third on this list is BJP candidate Rajendra Prasad Gupta from the Kesaria constituency with assets worth Rs 20 crore.

Raja Kumar a candidates of the Bharat Nirman Party contesting from the Kurhani constituency has assets worth Rs 2,000. He is followed by Farooq Khan contesting on a Bhartiya New Sanskar Krantikari Party ticket from Hathua with assets worth Rs 6,000. With 6,346 worth of assets, Devendra Jha an independent candidate from the Bajapatti comes third.

Interesting facts on financial declaration of candidates in 4th phase:

-Party wise crorepati candidates: 28 (67%) out of 42 fielded by BJP, 7 (13%) out of 53 candidates of BSP, 16 (76%) out of 21 candidates from JD(U), 6 (75%) out of 8 candidates from INC, 15 (58%) out of 26 candidates from RJD, 21 (51%) out of 41 candidates fielded by SP, 4 (44%) out of 9 candidates of NCP, 5 (100%) out of 5 candidates of LJP and 64 (24%) out of 265 Independent candidates have declared assets worth more than Rs. 1 crore.

Average assets: The average of assets per candidate contesting in the fourth phase of Bihar assembly elections is Rs 1.24 crores.

Party wise average assets: Among major parties, the average assets per candidate for 42 BJP candidates is Rs 3.53 crores, 53 BSP candidates have average assets of Rs 76 lakhs, 21 JD(U) candidates have average assets worth of Rs 2.33 crores, 8 INC candidates have average assets worth Rs 3.33 crores, 26 RJD candidates have average assets worth of Rs 2.15 crores, average assets of 41 SP candidates are Rs 2.63 crores, 9 NCP candidates have average assets of Rs 1.82 crores, average assets of 5 LJP candidates are Rs 3.95 crores and 265 Independent candidates have average assets of Rs. 1.10 crores.

Undeclared PAN:A total of 269 (35%) candidates have not declared their PAN details.

-Crorepati candidates with no PAN: 26 candidates with total assets worth more than Rs. 1 crore have not declared PAN details.

-Candidates with high income as declared in the ITR: 3 candidates have declared total annual income of more than Rs 85 lakhs.

-Candidates who have not declared Income Tax Details: 470 (61%) out of 776 candidates have not declared income tax details. Some candidates may be exempted from filing Income Tax Returns.

-Candidates with high Assets who have not declared Income Tax Details:
63 candidates with assets worth more than Rs 1 crore have not declared Income Tax details.
