The Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), which has launched a campaign titled, ‘My vote is not for sale’, to counter bribing of voters, has pegged the overall expenditure by candidates and political parties in the ensuing assembly elections at anywhere between Rs 6,000-7,000 crore. ADR’s Prof Trilochan Sastry told reporters the poll is likely to see spending and bribing of voters through cash, liquor and gifts.
