Top 10 richest CMs of India 2025: The Chief Minister (CM) in India is an elected head of government in each state or union territory with a legislature, responsible for governing their state.
Indian political leaders are known for their significant wealth; among the 30 Chief Ministers of states/UTs, two, that is, 7 per cent of them, are billionaires, according to the new Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and National Election Watch (NEW) analysis.
N Chandrababu Naidu, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, is the richest of all, with total assets worth over Rs 931 crore, followed by Arunachal Pradesh’s CM Pema Khandu with Rs 332 crore and Karnataka’s CM Siddaramaiah with over Rs 51 crore.
Additionally, they also rank among those with the highest declared liabilities; 11 of the listed CMs report liabilities of Rs 1 crore or more.
In sharp contrast, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has declared the lowest assets, amounting to just ₹15.38 lakh, all of which are movable, with no immovable holdings.
Among the top 10 wealthiest Chief Ministers in India, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leads with three names on the list—Pema Khandu, Mohan Yadav, and Himanta Biswa Sarma—followed by 2 CMs from the Indian National Congress (INC) and other political parties.
Furthermore, the average self-reported income of Chief Ministers is Rs. 1,334,738, and the combined total assets of these Chief Ministers amount to Rs. 1,632 crores.
