National Article Writing Competition by CHRDS, Himachal Pradesh National Law University

ADR collaborated with the Centre for Human Rights and Disability Studies (CHRDS), Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla, for the National Article Writing Competition on "Electoral Rights of Persons with Disabilities". The competition received a total of 115 entries. Out of these, 44 entries were co-authored submissions, while the remaining 71 entries were single-authored submissions.

The winners are:

First: Rangoli Singh (2nd year student from Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla) (Essay link)

The themes for the competition were as follows:

  3. Digital Democracy or Digital Divide? The Legal Promise and Perils of Electronic Voting for the Disabled
  4. Guardianship vs. Citizenship: Legal Capacity and the Disenfranchisement of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities
  5. From Tokenism to Transformation: Implementing Accessible Elections as a Constitutional Mandate
