68 out of the 204 or thirty-three per cent of the sitting MLAs in Tamil Nadu have declared criminal cases against them, according to a report by-poll rights group Association for Democratic Reforms. Out of the total sitting MLAs from the poll-bound state, 38 or 19 per cent of lawmakers have serious criminal cases against them. Serious criminal cases are non-bailable offences with over five years of imprisonment. The report also said that 157 or 77 per cent of legislators have declared their financial assets to be worth crores.
