Out of 30 chief ministers analysed, 29 are crorepatis, the ADR reported showed.
Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy emerged as the richest among the 30 chief ministers in the country with assets worth Rs 501 crore, Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR) and National Election Watch (NEW) said in a new report.
The data has been extracted from affidavits filed by CMs prior to contesting their last elections. The report finds that the average of assets per chief minister from state assemblies and union territories is Rs 33.96 crore and out of 30 chief ministers analysed, 29 are crorepatis.
The top three chief ministers in the list include Jagan Reddy, whose movable assets are worth 4,43,48,37,267 and immovable assets are worth Rs 66,89,79,299 and the total worth is Rs 510 crore.
Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu is in the second spot with total assets worth Rs 160 crore and Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik ranked third with total assets worth Rs 63 crore.
Interestingly, Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao topped the list of CMs with high liabilities with debts upwards of Rs 8 crore.
Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee topped the list of CMs with low assets with Rs 15 lakh.
Out of the all 30 CMs analysed from State Assemblies and Union Territories, 13 (43%) Chief Ministers have declared criminal cases against themselves.
