The report has been released on Thursday by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR). It has been told that 32 candidates of AAP are facing criminal cases. Congress is on the second number and BJP on the third.

According to the ADR report, out of 167 candidates with criminal cases, 100 have serious charges like murder or rape. Along with this, 21 per cent of the total candidates have criminal cases, while 13 per cent have serious charges. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is contesting on 88 out of the total 89 seats. 36 percent of its candidates have criminal cases registered against them.
The report states that 30 per cent candidates of the Arvind Kejriwal-led party (AAP) are facing serious cases like murder, rape, assault, kidnapping. The number of candidates with criminal cases fielded by the AAP is 32. The surprising thing is that this party is engaged in campaigning by promising to give a clean and corruption free government in the state.
Congress on second number with 35 percent tainted candidates
After this, the party with maximum number of criminal candidates is Congress. 35 per cent of its candidates are facing criminal cases. At the same time, serious cases are going on against 20 percent of the candidates. Reports say that the grand old party is contesting on all 89 seats in the first phase. The number of Congress candidates with criminal cases is 31.

At the same time, the ruling BJP is also contesting on all the seats in the first phase. The party has fielded 14 candidates with criminal records. ADR has told in its report that in percentage terms such candidates account for 16 percent of the total number and 12 percent of the candidates are facing serious allegations.
BTP has 14 candidates in fray, 29 percent tainted
Bhartiya Tribal Party (BTP) has 14 per cent candidates contesting in the first phase. Of these, four candidates (29 per cent) are facing criminal cases. Seven per cent of its candidates have serious criminal cases this time. The ADR report pointed out that 15 per cent of the candidates who contested in the first phase of the 2017 assembly elections were tainted, while eight per cent had serious criminal cases.
Reports suggest that some candidates with serious criminal cases include BJP’s Janak Talaviya and Congress’s Vasant Patel. Other candidates with criminal records include BJP’s Purushottam Solanki, Congress’s Ganiben Thakor and Jignesh Mevani, AAP’s Gopal Italia and Alpesh Katheria.
