Uttar Pradesh Election Watch is an associate of National Election Watch and Association for
Democratic Reforms which are civil society organizations working for electoral and political
reform in India. We are holding a press conference at Hotel Kamesh Hut, Near Veer Studio,
Jagatganj, Lahurabeer (Varanasi) on 13th January 2012 at 2:00 P.M.

The main focus will be on “Analysis of Announced List of Candidates for uttar Pradesh 2012
Assembly Elections by BJP, INC, SP and RLD”.

For the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections, various political parties have released
their first lists of candidates who will contest the elections. Association for Democratic Reforms
(ADR), Uttar Pradesh Election Watch (UPEW) and NEW looked at following lists declared by
various political parties and checked the records of these candidates with over 75,000 records
that ADR and NEW has been accumulating since 2003.

A report on the analysis of financial and criminal backgrounds of re-contesting candidates in
the upcoming elections has been carried out by the Uttar Pradesh Election Watch and National
Elections Watch will be released the conference.

A report on the analysis of financial and criminal backgrounds of MLAs of Varansi districts will
also be released there along with report on state budget analysis for Uttar Pradesh will also
be released. Combined report on the analysis of MLAs and Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh,
Punjab, Goa, Uttarakhand and Manipur will also released there.
