Himachal Election Watch, which tracks the elections, has presented its report by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR). According to the report of ADR, the poor condition of roads in the state and lack of roads is the main issue of elections. Apart from this, electricity, water and unemployment is one of the major issues. Surprisingly, inflation is the number 7 issue in front of the people of the state.

According to the organization, who are the current 68 MLAs in the state, according to the affidavits filed by them in the Election Commission in 2017, out of 68, 28% i.e. 19 MLAs are those who are facing criminal cases, and 8 MLAs are such. Those who are facing serious criminal cases.

17 BJP MLAs are facing criminal cases and 6 have serious cases while Congress has 4 MLAs out of which 2 are facing serious criminal cases. Talking about assets, 50 out of 68 MLAs are crorepatis, the average assets of MLAs is Rs 8.45 crore.

MLA from Chaupal Balveer Verma is the richest MLA, who is the richest MLA, while BJP MLA from Indora, Rita Dhiman, who owns assets of 58 lakhs, has the least assets. There are 50 MLAs out of 68 who are crorepatis.

According to the organization, the electoral literacy campaign being run in collaboration with Himachal Gyan Vigyan Samiti will reach more than 50,000 households in 1500 gram panchayats and urban areas. Himachal Election Watch and ADR have released the criminal, education, gender and financial background reports of 68 sitting MLAs.

The report which has come out after the survey of 1500 panchayats and 50 thousand houses in urban areas. According to him 89% people are preferring to vote for honest leader and only 11% prefer to vote only after looking at the party. According to the organization, there is still 60% survey left.

According to the body, the Supreme Court has also directed the political parties to list the reasons for nominating candidates with criminal antecedents on their websites, including on their social media platforms, within 72 hours of the selection of such candidates.
