The Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) has analyzed the assets of the Chief Ministers of the states of India. It has been found in this analysis that out of 30 Chief Ministers in the country, 29 Chief Ministers are Crorepati CMs.
ADR Report: There has been a big disclosure in the report of the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR). ADR has said in its report that according to the analysis of election affidavits by the organization, out of 30 Chief Ministers of the country, 29 Chief Ministers are Crorepati CMs.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is the richest CM in the country with assets of Rs 510 crore, while Mamata Banerjee of West Bengal is the only CM, who are not millionaires. The ADR said that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has the least assets of around Rs 15 lakh. The latest report by the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), related to political and electoral reforms, said that Telangana Chief Minister KC Rao (KC Rao) tops the list in terms of criminal cases and financial liabilities. The ADR said that with assets worth Rs 15 lakh, Mamata Banerjee has the least assets among all chief ministers. Then come Pinarayi Vijayan of Kerala and ML Khattar of Haryana, who have assets worth Rs 1.2 crore and Rs 1.3 crore respectively.
And Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister has assets worth Rs 163 crore and Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has assets worth Rs 63 crore. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal have assets worth more than Rs 3 crore.
There are 28 states and two union territories. The two Union Territories of Delhi and Puducherry also have CMs. The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir does not currently have a Chief Minister. After analyzing the affidavits of 30 Chief Ministers, ADR found that 29 i.e. 97 percent of the Chief Ministers are crorepatis. Each of these chief ministers has an average asset of 33.96 crores.
Also, according to the ADR report, 13 out of 30 chief ministers (43 per cent) have declared serious criminal cases related to murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping and criminal intimidation in their election affidavits. Serious criminal cases are non-bailable offenses with imprisonment of more than five years, the report said.
