Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar is the richest MLA in the country. He has assets of more than 1,400 crores. The second and third richest MLAs are also from Karnataka.
The second number is KH Puttaswamy Gowda, an independent MLA from Karnataka. He has assets worth Rs 1,267 crore. At number three is Congress MLA from Karnataka Priya Krishna, who has property worth Rs 1,156 crore.
The MLA with the least assets is Nirmal Kumar Dhara, BJP MLA from West Bengal, whose total declared assets are just Rs 1,700.
He is followed by Independent MLA from Odisha, Makaranda Muduli, who has assets of Rs 15,000. Then there is Narinder Pal Singh Sawna of Aam Aadmi Party from Punjab, whose assets are Rs 18,370.
These figures have been released by the Association for Democratic Report (ADR).
4 Congress and 3 BJP in top ten rich MLAs
Four of the richest MLAs are from the Congress and three from the BJP. Of the 20 richest MLAs in the country, 12 are from Karnataka. 4 out of 59 MLAs of Arunachal Pradesh are billionaires.
DK said – I am not the richest, but I am not poor either
When asked about his wealth, DK Shivakumar said – I am not the richest, but I am not poor either. These are assets that I have acquired over a long period of time.

Janardhan Reddy at number 23
At number 23 in the list of richest MLAs is Gali Janardhana Reddy, a mining baron. Reddy was earlier a part of the BJP. He formed his party last year. Most of his assets are in the name of his wife Aruna Lakshmi.
