India MLAs assets ADR report: The total assets of MLAs in the country have been found to be Rs.54,545 crores. It is revealed that this is more than the annual budget of Nagaland, Mizoram and Sikkim states. To this extent, Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and National Election Watch (NEW) have released a joint report. The report revealed the information of 4001 sitting MLAs in 28 states and two Union Territories of the country. The value of all their assets is Rs.54,545 crores. The report reminded that the combined budget of the states of Nagaland, Mizoram and Sikkim for the current financial year is Rs 49,103 crore.

ADR report on MLAs assets: ADR-NEW has revealed that this report has been prepared based on the information collected from the affidavits of the MLAs. Out of a total of 4033 MLAs, 4001 said that they analyzed the information. They explained that the average property value of MLAs was Rs.13.63 crores.

The report analyzed that more than half of the assets of the MLAs belong to the leaders of the BJP and Congress parties. It said that the MLAs of these two parties have assets of Rs.32,032 crore. It revealed that 58.73 percent of the assets of the MLAs belong to the legislators of these two parties. The property value of BJP and Congress MLAs is higher than the state budget of Mizoram (Rs 14,210 crore) and Sikkim (Rs 11,807 crore).

While the properties of MLAs are less in the North Eastern states, Karnataka has emerged as the state with the highest number of MLAs. The assets of Karnataka MLAs are worth more than the individual annual budgets of Mizoram and Sikkim states. The share of Karnataka legislators in the total assets of MLAs is 26 percent. Total assets of MLAs of Rajasthan, Punjab, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Bengal, Goa, Meghalaya, Odisha, Assam, Nagaland, Uttarakhand, Kerala, Puducherry, Jharkhand, Sikkim, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura The wealth of Karnataka legislators is more than that. The assets of MLAs of these 21 states are worth Rs.13,976 crores.
