MLA Assets: A report has been issued regarding the assets of the current MLAs of the country. According to this report, the total assets of 4001 sitting MLAs is Rs 54,545 crore, which is more than the combined annual budget of 2023-24 of Nagaland, Mizoram and Sikkim. Out of these MLAs, 1356 BJP MLAs have assets worth Rs 16,234 crore and 719 Congress MLAs have assets worth Rs 15,798 crore.

Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and National Election Watch have released this report. In this, data has been extracted from the affidavits filed by the MLAs before contesting their last election. It has been said in the report that out of total 4033 MLAs, 4001 affidavits have been analysed.

Legislators have more property than the budget of three states

According to the report, the total assets of 4001 sitting MLAs is Rs 54,545 crore. This amount is more than the combined annual budget of three states, Nagaland, Mizoram and Sikkim for 2023-24, totaling Rs 49,103 crore. Nagaland’s annual budget 2023-24 is Rs 23,086 crore, Mizoram Rs 14,210 crore and Sikkim Rs 11,807 crore.

How much property do the MLAs of which party have?

The report states that apart from BJP and Congress MLAs, 146 YSRCP MLAs have assets worth Rs 3,379 crore. While 131 DMK MLAs have assets worth Rs 1,663 crore. 161 AAP MLAs have total assets of Rs 1,642 crore. It states that the average assets per MLA of 84 political parties and independent MLAs is Rs 13.63 crore.

Among major parties, the average per MLA assets of 1356 BJP MLAs is Rs 11.97 crore, 719 Congress MLAs Rs 21.97 crore, 227 TMC MLAs Rs 3.51 crore, 161 AAP MLAs Rs 10.20 crore and 146 YSRCP MLAs Rs 23.14 crore. crores is Rs.

Karnataka MLAs have the most money

It said the total assets of the analyzed 223 MLAs from Karnataka is Rs 14,359 crore, the total assets of 284 MLAs analyzed from Maharashtra is Rs 6,679 crore and the total assets of 174 MLAs analyzed from Andhra Pradesh is Rs 4,914 crore.

This report has been released on 4001 MLAs of 28 state assemblies and two union territories. It also has details of sitting and independent MLAs of 84 political parties.
