Lok Sabha elections are coming soon and the nomination process will start soon. But before that came the ADR report that shocked everyone. The report said that out of 23 MPs who were re-elected in the Lok Sabha elections held between 2004 and 2019, 12 have declared criminal cases against themselves.

It is said that the relationship between politics and crime is different. There are many political leaders who have filed serious criminal cases but they are still part of politics. Now an ADR report has also confirmed this. The report of the ‘Association for Democratic Reforms’ (ADR) revealed that out of 23 MPs who were re-elected in the Lok Sabha elections, 12 have declared criminal cases against themselves, of which nine MPs have serious criminal cases.

Disclosure of ADR report

Analysis by ADR and ‘National Election Watch’ revealed that nine out of 12 MPs have serious criminal charges against them, including charges related to murder, attempted murder and corruption. It said that of the 23 MPs included in the list, 52 percent have declared criminal charges against themselves and 39 percent of MPs have serious criminal charges registered against them. The report said that out of 17 re-elected MPs of Bharatiya Janata Party, seven (41 per cent), three re-elected MPs of Congress (100 per cent), one from All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM ) and one from Shiv Sena. The MP declared the criminal charges against him in the affidavit. According to the report, the re-elected MPs whose fortunes have grown significantly include J. Names like Ramesh Chandappa, Maneka Sanjay Gandhi and Rao Inderjit Singh have also been included.
